Transfers! I'm styaing in Jinju!!

I'm not really sure where last transfer went. seriously. I blinked my eye and it was over. MISSIONS GO WAY TOO FAST. This last Thursday was the day of TRANSFER CALLS. Because I was sending my companion home, I was almost certain I would be staying and I was right! This meant that I would not receive a call on Thursday night and that my new companion would call me the next morning to tell me they are coming. BUT... that night, I DID receive a call. and it was from President Barrow!......which could only mean one thing. TRAINING. I almost didn't want to answer the phone I was so nervous  haha BUT on the phone.. President didn't tell me I would be training, he instead asked if I would be willing to be sister training leader over our zone! YAYYY NOT TRAINING.. yet... haha. My new companion is Sister Park! She is Korean and she is 24 years old in american age (26 in korean) She just finished being trained so she is in her 3 transfer and I am in my 5 so we are still a pretty young companionship! She is SOOOO KIND and I am sooo excited to see how we can help this area progress even more this transfer! I really have no time this week because we had to go to Busan for transfer meeting but I will try to send a good email next week! We are busier than we have ever been here in Jinju and Sacheon and I couldn't be happier. I love being busy! (I must be my mothers daughter:))

Have a great week!

Scripture of the week: Alma 37:37

37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

Something I heard at transfer meeting:

"The Lord can do this work without us so why did he call us? It's for us to learn and grow. Don't ever quit. that's dumb. Become the person God wants you to be."

Angels

I wish I had more time to write this week but unfortunately I spent the day in another area with my zone relaxing and playing ping pong and kick ball and doing gymnastics (you know how I love gymnastics:)), and eating at meat buffets so my day was full of all sorts of adventures and fun:) korea has the best meat buffets. You just choose what meat you want and cook it yourself on your table. #theebest

But other than having a great P-Day, This last week was full of ups and downs. Kinda like every week in the mission field. We had really good lessons, and some not so good ones, and a lot of lessons that were canceled on us but at the end of the day Sister Lee and I were able to look back and see the miracles and blessings that happened and how God was working in our lives through the hard times. See Lee is good at helping me recognize the things we have to be grateful in everyday.

This last week I was able to have interviews with our Mission President. I'm grateful to know and feel that this man is called of God to labor over our mission. What a blessing it was to be able to talk to him and receive inspiration from him of what God needed me to hear at that time.

I think you may be wondering why the title of this entry is "Angles" Well that is because the scripture of the week for you all is D&C 84:88.

88 And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mineangels round about you, to bear you up.

This last week I learnered as you diligently, earnestly pour out your heart to Heavenly Father in daily prayer, He will send His angels to help you. He certainly did this for me. I know without a doubt in my mind if we pray with a sincere heart, Heavenly Father will hear our prayers and answer them. Before missionary work, I had a strong testimony of prayer, but as a missionary it continues to grow as I have more questions I need answers to. This guides us to the reality that all trials in this life are for our good. it is so easy to forget this as we are going through such challenging times but I testify that we have a Heavenly Father who truly loves us so much that he wants us to reach our potential. I know that we truly can grow through the experiences and adversity that we face.

I'm out of time but know that I truly love being a missionary. I have never felt so much joy and satisfaction than I do as I talk to people on the street each day and testify of Our loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.

Have a great week and remember to look up!

7 Months Already?

I honestly cannot believe it has been 7 months. Life here in Jinju and Sacheon have been so busy that time is flying. Each week seems like a day. This last week was incredible. truly incredible and I don't know how I can really express it in words. Sister Lee and I have been blessed beyond measure to be able to watch our areas progress so much over the last 4 weeks. Before this transfer I prayed so hard to Heavenly Father that I would be able to have a companion who loves missionary work and wants to work hard. Sister Lee is exactly that. Although she is going home to Seoul in 2 week, she has hardly talked about it. She is staying completely focused on missionary work and she loves it. This last week we had the biggest miracle and I am going to try and share it the best I can!

It all started last Wednesday night when we receive a referral from headquarters. It was too late at night that we had to wait until the next day to call her. The text from headquarters said that the referral had visited the church website and had requested a Bom with a pamphlet. Her name is Sister Kwon and she is 25. When we found her address we realized that she lives in the most country part of our area almost in the middle of nowhere! There were very few buses that go to her house so it would take a lot of time and planning to figure out when we would be able to visit her! On Thursday when we called her we realized how special this referral was. When she answered the phone she was so excited to hear it was the sister missionaries. She had said that she had almost given up hope that we would never call and then we called. We told her looking at our schedule and the times of buses that we would be able to visit her on Saturday. She said that seemed so far away and that she needed to talk now. She opened up and told us her life story and how she is not happy and that recently she had thought about commiting suicide. She said she wants to change. She wants to turn her life around so she can be happy. She said she wants to know God and how she can trust him. She wants to find purpose in her life and know why she is here. On Saturday when we visited her home we had the most incredible lesson with her. We taught her about God and prayer and gave her a Book of Mormon. She loved everything we taught her and said she knew it was true. She said she had never felt so happy in a long time. Later that night she called us crying. Telling us that she knows what we are teaching her is true but that right after we left her home her grandmother told her that we were a cult and that she didn't want her coming to our church but that she wanted to go with her to a different church with her. Sister Lee and I were heart broken. We know Satan is working so hard on Sister Kwon because her faith is so strong. After saying a prayer with us on the phone she decided that she would stick to the feelings she had when we taught her and felt outr message was true. She told us she wanted to attend church with us the next day! and she came and she loved it. and She wants to continue attending with us. This never happens, but it did. Sister Kwon is truly special and I know she was prepared by God to meet us. I know he loves her so much so he guided her to us. I wish I could describe this story more in detail because literall everything lined up and there were so many little miracles in each moment but....

I'm out of time. know that I am happy here doing God's work in Korea. I know God is helping us see miracles everyday because of our willingness to work hard and submit our will to His.

I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Years everybody! Although it was New Years, I'm sure you all went to bed at 10:30 because you knew that's what I would be doing right? hehe. I hope you spent the night as usual eating junk food, drinking sparkling cider, playing games, and kissing the one you love at midnight!

Actually, I had a more fun new years than you may think! Our Ward here in jinju decided to have a party so we feasted and played games and got permission to be home at 9:30 instead of 9:00:) super fun! One thing I love about branches and wards here in Korea is how much they are like a family. Our ward members all gathered together and spent the night at the church celebrating the start of the new year. It's tradition in Korea to watch the Sunrise on January first because it marks the new year so us missionaries actually got permission to do just that! So we got up at 5:30 and traveled with our members to a mountain where we bundled together (cuz it was FREEZING) and watched the sunrise! How fun!

This last week I was feeling stressed out for some reasons I can't really explain but it was getting pretty bad so I decided I really needed a priesthood blessing because it was effecting my thinking. On Wednesday I was able to receive a blessing from one of the elders in one of our areas. When I received it, the moment was beautiful. I know the power of the proesthood is real because I know that the words said were God's words that I specifically needed to hear. It was the Elder who gave the blessings very first blessing he had given and a little while after he gave it he came up to me and said that he knew it was God's words when he spoke and not his own. I think we were both blessed through that experience.

This week was also good because we made 2 new investigators!!<3 yayy.I know God was blessing me with the gift of tongues as I taught them! ITS REAL PEOPLE. THE GIFT OF TONGUES IS REAL. if you didn't know it.

This last week was also good because we met with hanmisuk's incredible family and was able to teach them the restoration. This is the family with the two daughters that are twins that are now 10 years old because of the new year. Our lesson with them this last week is one I will want to remember forever. Both of the parents were really listening carefully and asking questions. We gave each of them their very own Book of Mormon and they got so excited. At the end of the lesson sister hanmisuk was able to pray which was such a blessing. Lessons like these are how I pictured missionary work before my mission and when these lessons come, they are truly special. really special. I love this family so much and I am so grateful I am able to teach them with Sister Lee.

Here in Korea, I'm not teaching thousands of lessons each week or converting the masses but I wake up each day determined to give everything I can to the Lord and his work. I have truly come to know that this isn't the work of man but it is God's work. I have watched how this gospel can change lives for the better as it has changed mine.

I hope you all have an incredible week! I hope reading the BOM everyday is one of your new years resolutions:) I promise it will change your life! I know that the Book of Mormon was meant specifically for our day.

I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!

oh hey fun facts about my life:

There is a man who lives in the same apartment building as us who I think has a dream to become a professional singer because he sings everyday so lound that we can hear it! He usually starts at 10:30 each night and then starts again the next day at about 8:30 haha. But he is actually pretty good so I think we will let him continue with that dream.
